5-1-11 Last day of shooting this week for The Flight of Man! I can't believe we are already here. It's been a long week with early call times and late days, but it has been totally worth it. I feel like I have the easy part too, because I get the privilege to work with all the footage everyone else worked so hard to make possible. And I just sit on set and make backups of it all!

The late call time today was very welcome. We didn't start until the afternoon, so I got to sleep in and rest a bit. I also got to put together a quick teaser for the crew so they could see what they've been working on. I get to stare at it all day, but they haven't gotten to see any of it! So it's nice to be able to show them everything we've shot so far.

We don't have everything shot yet. There are a few more scenes that will hopefully be finished up in the next few weeks, so I look forward to getting that done. But I have plenty on my plate to edit already, so I'll be busy regardless!

I'm excited to keep working on it. I was able to get a lot done, but most of the creative part still needs to happen. It was shot really well, so instead of focusing on how to fix scenes to make them work in the edit room, I can really focus on why each shot is where it is and what emotions are being told in each scene. Which is what I should be doing anyway: approaching the footage as the last storyteller, making sure Zack's vision is carried through to the audience.

Until next time, I'm signing off after a successful flight....
